I did this shoot with Photographer Cameron Davis, I love the inspiration behind it! It being Fall, all the plants around us were dying, the colors were very mute, everything seemed lifeless. But the moment Genevieve Rea stepped into the picture, so much beauty and emotion developed. I felt like these photo's really tell a story, sometimes beauty is sad, sometimes its dark.

On Genevieve I used Laura Mercier's Metalic Creme Eye Colour in "burnished copper." I then used a Smashbox eyeliner pencil in "onyx." For her complexion I used a combination of M.U.F.E. HD liquid foundation, and Sephora's tinted moisturizer, along with Amazing Cosmetics Concealer. On the cheeks I swept Bare Essentials "warmth." And on the lips Fresh's sugar balm "rose."

This was a while ago, but I thought I would post if for Halloween! This wonderful model is actually a dear friend and fellow MUA Kristen Noelle Cipponeri. I put a bald cap on her head covering her ears, prosthetics over her eyes and lips... oh and of course lots of fake blood!

On Zoe we wanted a very natural and fresh makeup. Kind of the "no makeup, makeup!" that every woman wants. The secret behind this is using less products, but that have more pigment and more concentrate. And using undertones that are the same as your skin tone.

As with any makeup application, beautiful makeup starts with beautiful skin. So prepping the skin properly is KEY. I used Bliss's Fabulous Daily moisturizer with an spf 15, for all skin types. Using a moisturizer that fits your skin type is what will make your complexion makeup glide on and look like your skin. (if you are having trouble figuring our your skin type or a appropriate skin care product for you, go to your local Sephora. A skin care expert can help you discover what would be best for you.)

For foundation I used The Balm, its a cream that blends seamlessly into the skin and has amazing coverage. I only used it under her eyes and around the nose. The average person has the most discoloration or redness in the center of the face, so if you neutralize that area you will not need as much coverage elsewhere. I put a light amount of Bare Essentials "warmth" under her check bones, It helps define and slim her natural shadow. This color is actually a universal shade, and looks good on everyone but appears insanely dark! when shopping for a color; lipstick, foundation, blush, don't let the color fool you or be intimidated! Try it on it could be perfect for you! People tend to go for the same range of colors, because they feel comfortable and know that they work for them. But just like anything, if you don't try something new you'll never know what you're missing! I also dusted the same color just in the crease of her eye. A great tip I always use when doing a natural look- take a light brown or taupe color and sweep it right under the bottom lash line only going half way under the eye. Its called "drop shadow" it gives the illusion of a thicker lash line! (try it an notice what a difference it makes!) Then applied a light coat of YSL Volume Effet Faux Cils mascara and on the lips I used Fresh Sugar balm.
